winky...

pallies are one of the best solo'ers in the game. with a good 2h hasted with seal of crusader i burn a gaping goatse hole into any mobs within 4 levels of me. while i'm fighting, i can bust a holy light on myself and channel thru without even wasting an invul (those i save for your buddies who may try to roll up on me).

i have zero downtime between fights solo. the only thing that ever slows me down is when a) i run out of mobs b) my inventory fills up or c) i take a break to pound on some random horde who crosses my path.

i suggest you stick to discussing specifics of your own class rather than running your suck about one that you obviously know so little about.

Can you really run through mobs like that with no downtime? Because I think that might just swing the vote. I hate waiting.

play a paladin, its fairly obvious that it would fit yr playstyle and the only reason yr considaring rogue is for the "coolness" factar. you'd be much happiar in the long run playing a class that suits you vs playing a class just cos it looks/sounds/whatevar cool.

Yeah. I am leaning towards a pally. I guess I'm just caught up in the appeal of being able to sneak past everyone if I need to or if I want to assassinate some horde NPCs. A guildie of mine tried to do that in the Undercity. Apparently as soon as one dies a Deathguard appears and owns you. He was sad. Besides. I'm probably not skilled enough in character manipulation to play a rogue as well as I'd need to be able to play it to do the things I want to do. Perhaps later down the road when I'm more experienced. Thanks for all the input everyone. Paladin it is.

god knows we have no love lost between us, but listen to him! Or get original and make a char thats NOT a pally on alliance, although I know thats difficult for so many people to do. Last night in hillsbrad it was like 30% rogue/paly 20% mage few priests druids and hunters.

If I were going to start a Rogue I'd planned on making it Horde. I am partial to the Hunter or Warlock as well, but I kind of wanted to avoid caster classes this go around since I am a mage now.

See here is why I am rarely nice on message boards....

Those people with small intelects who feel the need to make personal attacks.... fine so be it, lez GET IT ON!!

Gomo, why dun you go fuck your mother, that way you can stop being the only person in North America who has not, cmon man get with the program.

As far as my stated opinion, had you bothered to read the ENTIRE thread, dumb fuck, you would have seen me CLEARLY state that the pally is THE MOST OVERPOWERED GOD CLASS IN THE GAME.... a statement that you yourself, with your comments affirmed.

Now I shall clarify, for the above mentioned small brained, my comment from before.....

Rogues are a SOLO class. I do not need, nor for the largest part WANT any non stealthers with me, I goto my target undetected and assasinate it.

Pallys on the other hand, due to there lack of STEALTH, have to fight thru whatever is between them and their intended target, hence making a group desireable. Notice I did not say MUST have a grp, just MORE group dependant than a Rogue. Whens the last time you stealthed thru an instance with another Rogue, assasinated the boss mob looted and stealthed out?

In the future, Gomo, I would suggest reading before posting.

There is also an old Japanese saying that I think applies here, "Confucious says, tis better to the thought the fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

Should you wish to continue the flaming, I welcome the challenge.

Wink

Okay. So that's pretty straightfoward. I see what you mean Winky. You're sick. You really enjoy this stuff:) Hehe.

Sneaking through entire instances to kill bosses? Ugh* I want that. Someday...

While we're on the subject is there anyone who is aware of a Rogue only guild?

As a member of the horde, I have fought paladins many times.

You have a chance at killing them, but you have to use every resource available to you, and get lucky. It's a lot easier if you find a stupid paladin that does not know that the shield breaks stuns, etc..

Use your most damaging abilities as you have to burn up there shields quickly. Put on dual instant poison for your weapons. With cold blood + 5point eviscerate, you can hit cloth wearers for 1700(max) damage. You can hit plate wearers for aprox 1000(max) give or take a few hundred. If you get lucky, you can win by getting a paladin low, then finish him with your critical evicerate. The paladin will usually use the Seal of Command, which can crit for 20% of your life bar, or crit a weapon blow which really hurts.

To get to that point, rupture is your friend since plate takes off a lot of your damage by reduction. Garote as well (They stack). Use evasion at the beginning of the fight, and drink a free action potion if you have one to negate the Hammer of Justice (This ability kills rogues as their damage done is very high). When they shield up the first time, bandage. After the second shield, healing potion. If they Lay on Hands, make sure you vanish / sprint.

What usually happens, is after you burn up some / both of there shields, or LoH. Run away and vanish. Med up, then come back for the kill. Make sure you come back quickly, as 5 minutes goes by quick. Even using all of these tricks, a well stacked paladin is near impossible to kill unless you get some very lucky crits.

Dont fight paladins. The chance for success is low. Against a warrior, you will always win. But you cannot burn up 12,000hp spamming sinister strikes, and eviscerates. Rogues are built for a one trick pony with extreme upfront damage. If you dont end the fight quickly, you'll be constantly behind your energy bar waiting for the next special.

I think the only instance bosses you can solo at lvl 60 are in Scarlet Monastery , everything else is too hard anyway.

Those are the only ones you can solo kill for XP. Is that what you mean? Because I'm just plain thinking about grinding through most of the normal quests and then coming back at higher levels to zip through instance dungeons. Of course this is mostly due to the fact that the average Joe Schmoe can't support a group if his sexuality depended on it...

I'm also assuming I still get the same quext XP for doing a dungeon at a higher level?

By the time you can kill them solo you won't hardly get any XP of them anymore if any at all.
Instance Bosses are first of all tough and second never are just by themselves.
